“while you are being careful, your enemies have already jumped ahead two moves; no matter how good you think you are at chess, your enemy will win if he gets two moves per each one of yours.” I am not sure if you are aware, but in a trial against the department of justice because of the “presumption of innocence” (Ha!), the prosecution gets 2 bites at the apple to your one with similar bad results for you. They get to examine the witness, defense gets to cross examine and the prosecution gets to examine one more last unopposed time (and lie) and solidify their point which is all that the jury remembers so that the defendant is hog-tied. No wonder the DOJ wins 97% of the time!!!
